Biplane Rides

The Boeing Stearman Aircraft

The Napa Valley Biplane Company operates a fully restored 1942 Boeing Stearman. This aircraft was originally designed by Loyd Stearman in the mid 1930’s and manufactured in Wichita, Kansas. The Boeing Aircraft Company purchased the rights to manufacture the Stearman at the outbreak of World War II. The Boeing Stearman was subsequently used by the Army Air Corp and Navy as a primary trainer until the end of the war. The Boeing Stearman biplane represented the pinnacle of aircraft design for its era.
